Coffee And Tea Houses in Dorset

There is nothing more calming and relaxing than having a cup of hot coffee or tea any time of the day in your Dorset vacation. Aside from the coffee served by your Dorset holiday cottages, it is still best to experience them from Dorset's famous coffee and tea houses. Look around the area of your Dorset holiday cottages and you are sure to find one great place to unwind and enjoy a cup of their specialty coffee and teas. Here are some of the houses that offer the best tasting coffee and teas in Dorset.

Taste

Taste is one of Dorchester's famed cafe/bistro/restaurant combined in one amazing dining place. Its convenient location near the Dorset holiday cottages made it a favourite among vacationers and even locals. Serving nothing but the best fresh hot coffee in town, it has been their passion to make every guest satisfied with every sip they take. To make sure that you enjoy your meal, Taste's Chef Todd Moffat is ready to assist you in any way possible. You may also want to complement your coffee with the house's delicious pastries.

Blue Pool and Tea House

Because more coffee and tea houses are opening up in Dorset, having house specials and signature drinks have become popular among restaurants and bars. One of them is the Blue Pool and Tea House which boast of their special English tea. You might want to try their freshly baked scones or enjoy a sumptuous lunch. Built in 1935, with carefully chosen materials of brick and lime, the tea house is well-situated near many Dorset holiday cottages. Aside from the fact that it is accessible from the Dorset holiday cottages, the Blue Pool and Tea House are deluged with guests because of the Blue Pool attraction. The changing of the water colour from turquoise to green is an amazing sight to see. This happens when the ray of light passes through the water and the colour changes because of the presence of fine clay that is responsible for the colour change. Whether you are up for early coffee or a nice cup of coffee for afternoon snacks, the tea house is a perfect place to relax in.

The Old Tea House

If you are thinking of a steaming cup of coffee or tea in a comfortable place other than your Dorset holiday cottages, drive on to Dorchester and visit The Old Tea House. The name says it all. It has been proven and tested through time by many locals and vacationers alike. Grab a cup of nice coffee or tea and simply enjoy the place. You'll realize how relaxing their ambiance is when you try it out. If you're up for more filling snacks, match it with some freshly baked pastries. You might want to take some back to your Dorset holiday cottages for some late night snacks.

I would like to donate some gifts to the local Meals on Wheels for the shut-ins?
for Christmas. I don't want to give the "usual" generic gifts (lotions, soaps etc). So far I have the following: journals, playing cards, speciality coffee and teas. It seems like so many of the elderly are forgotten at Christmas, I really want to do something special for them. Does anyone have some suggestions for other gifts that I could donate?

What's an estimate on how much it could cost me to start my own bakery?
I'll be going to go to culinary school for pastry in 1 1/2 years, and after maybe a year or two working and learning under someone else, but right after that I want to get my own place. I'm not planning on building from the ground up, hopefully just renovating an old small restaurant or something like that. Of course I have no idea what that would cost, what new (or used if I can) equipment like industrial appliances could cost, the cost of buying ingredients in huge amounts, or what a certified cooking staff should be payed, what my taxes will be on the place. And can accountants help to figure out all these things, or are they really just for managing the business finances once the business is already up and running? I googled cost of starting a bakery and 2 or three results said I needed to have saved up or taken out a loan on at least $500,000, and one site said one million!! That's more than the average cost of buying a house, and I had expected at most somewhere around $100,000 and I'll accept it if its really more like $250,000 but $500,000??? Could I be 70 before I have that paid off?! And of course I have plans to save up for LIFE e.g. college/trust fund for any kids I might have, retirement. I don't want to get married and have kids until my bakery is up running and bringing in cash, but if that means taking out a crazy loan when small businesses are still on shaky ground as it is... I guess I'll just have to work under someoneone as the best pastry chef ever and just pray they decide to retire really early and give me thier bakery (sarcasm). I really really want to own my own bakery, and though my family would like to help, they really don't have the combined funds to give me the money to do this, and it doesn't seem fair to take from them anyway. By bakery I mean, cakes, other breads, specialty coffee and tea, and even some brunch items, and a few places for people to sit down and eat and not a cupcake or doughnut shop. I'm only 17, but I really can't stand to do anything without planning ahead of time, though Yes, I know things usually dont go as planned, but still it can't hurt, and Ive known what I wanted for a really long time. What are the real cost, and what am I missing here?
