Coffee Beans Bring Out The Best Flavours
Coffee beans make the
best coffee simply because you are able to capture the flavour immediately. There is nothing quite like smelling the bean as your grind it up and then tasting it in the perfect cup of coffee. And with so many different varieties to try there is always a new type and new ways to create the perfect cup.
In order to make a cup of coffee it is necessary to grind the beans to the consistency you desire. You can do this in a manual bean grinder or go for a super cool electronic version. If this seems like far too much hard work then why not choose a coffee machine which has a built in grinder, just to make your life that little bit easier.
Fairtrade Beans Make Perfect Sense and the Perfect Cup of Coffee
If you like to give your support to local farmers and industries then there is a large collection of various Fairtrade coffee beans to choose from. Manufacturers have to follow strict guidelines before they earn the right to use this famous branding. The money goes back to the workers and makes sure everybody gets a fair wage. This strengthens the local communities and money can be put into health care schemes, hospitals and clinics as well as improving schools and education for local families and taking care of the forests.
Loads of Flavours
There are some amazing flavours in the Fairtrade coffee beans range which have been awarded for their excellence. They come from various locations and each has their own unique flavours. Here are a few which are worth experimenting with:
* Guatemalan beans are grown high up in the mountains and are warmed up through the day and cooled down during the nights. This climate creates a wonderfully acidic taste which produces a sour citric flavour with a caramel edge.
* Columbian beans are perfect if you like your coffee to be full of flavour. When drinking a mug you can expect to taste fruity flavours such as citrus and blackcurrant. You may also be aware of a nutty finish.
* Kenya beans are grown in red volcanic soil in the region of Nyeri. These coffee beans have a slight citrus flavour and are roasted to make sure you can savour all the flavours of their exotic location.
* The beans that originate from Nicaragua are grown 700 meters above the sea level. The flavours are fresh and clean producing a beautiful balanced flavour with great body. There is no acidity in the bean so this is a good choice if you prefer your coffee to be smooth on the palate. These smooth flavours make the perfect cup of espresso.

Why are people?s political views not inline with their consumer choices?
People complain that there is a democratic deficiency, with elections every 4/5 years nationally, and in some places yearly at a local level. Coupled with the two party systems denominating most nations, and the lack of accountability, I agree this is a genuine issue.
But there is a huge amount of dormant democratic power tied up in our spending habits. I?m not saying that this makes up for the lack of government accountability, but why don?t more people put their money where their mouth is?
It?s not a case of more education. People know by now that cheap chicken and eggs = battery farming. Buying at a supermarket = driving down farmers? wages. Non-fairtrade coffee = ripping off third-world growers, and refuelling with Shell and Exxon = forcing Nigerian nomads of the land at gunpoint and dumping oil into the ocean.
I want to hear from people who admit that they buy Nestle, Starbucks etc, while actively disagreeing with their practices, and I would like to know why.
