Commercial Espresso Grinders from Cecilware

Cecilware offers two varieties of Espresso Coffee grinders, the Venezia espresso grinders and the Venevia II espresso grinder. These grinders are made to handle constant use and have a micro "grind control" adjustment. This is an exclusive adjustment system that gives you infinite control over grind settings. No more preset "clicks" for grind settings. All these grinders have 2-1/2 inch grinding blades and a grinding speed of 1600 rpm. The frame for these grinders is made of cast aluminum to insure perfect grind head alignment. Each grinder has a doser and a stroke counter that shows the number of cups of espresso that has been served as well as a coffee pressing device. Just lift the porta filter under the device. All the espresso grinders come with an electrical line cord and an NEMA plug 5-5P. The Venezia group has three models and the Venezia II has one model.

The Venezia model VGT has a manual timer. For the savvy espresso operator, the time switch model offers the operator control over the grinding process. With a maximum grinding time of 1 minute, the operator can simply turn the mechanical timer in intervals of seconds to grind the amount of espresso beans desired. The espresso bean capacity is 2.7 pounds and the dose adjustment can be set from 5.5 grams to 9 grams. The capacity of the ground espresso container is .6 pounds (.3 kilograms). This model runs on 120 volts at 350 watts and pulls 2.9 amps with a ½ horse power motor.

The Venezia model VGT has an automatic timer and an espresso bean hopper capacity of 2.7 pounds (1.2 kilograms). The automatic timer is great for high volume use; it automatically starts after every 12 doses. The grinder stops when the chute is full and when it restarts it fills the chute full again. The dose adjustment can be set from 5.5 grams to 9 grams as well.

The Venezia model VHGA is a heavy duty espresso grinder with an automatic timer. The capacity of the espresso bean hopper is 4 pounds (1.8 kilograms). The dose adjustment is the same as the other two models. However, the ground espresso container capacity is .8 pounds (.4 kilograms). While the horsepower of the first two is ½, the horsepower of this model is 1 horsepower. This machine is designed for constant heavy use where you're consistently serving espresso or cappuccino style beverages such as at a coffee bar or espresso bar that is busy all the time.

The Venezia II espresso grinder has a micro "grind control" adjustment that allows the operator to set the grind size to the exact size desired. This model has a stouter frame than the Venezia II grinders, but is also has of cast aluminum alloy frame to insure perfect grind head alignment. The grinder also has a coffee pressing device close to the porta filter holder. Just lift the porta filter under the device to compact the grind. This grinder has a 5 minute timer and runs on a 120 volt 350 watt ½ horsepower motor that pulls 3 amps.

These commercial coffee grinders are designed for professional espresso baristas. Baristas who know not only how to make superb espressos, but also know the best grind for the espresso they are making for added perfection.

How to keep busy in the minutes between orders?
I just started a new job at a local coffee shop and I am really stoked. The problem is, the boss is really tough, and hates it when people stand around, and will yell if he sees people doing so. There are a lot of prices to memorize, so I feel really overloaded already. Since I am new, I'm not familiar with all the busywork that should fill the minutes between drink orders, and no one seems to want to tell me all the things that need to be done in the downtime. So if I stand there for 10 or so seconds brainstorming on things to do, then the boss thinks I'm standing around and will yell at me. The only things they've told me how to do is stock cups, fill the espresso grinders, and wipe things down. Any ideas of what other things need to be done at a coffee shop to spare me being yelled at? Obviously I will figure it out with time and experience, and I won't be standing around once I know the ropes, but until then I just need some ideas! Anyone?

Have any tips concerning what to look for when buying your first espresso machine and espresso grinder?
I'm looking for an espresso machine that will produce high quality espresso for lattes, and that has a built in steamer. I'm hoping to stay under $700 total for the machine and the grinder. What are your tips? What should I look for in various models? Increasing my budget wouldn't be too difficult, it would just mean a little longer before I could purchase the machine. What should I look for in a machine though? I don't want to be the person who says "this one costs the most so it must be the best"! Can you give any examples of espresso machines that you've found to work well and hold up over the years?
