How to Get The Best Coffee Beans

So you want to know how to choose the best Coffee Beans. As with any addiction, the first thing you need to do is find a reliable source. Look for a local shop that sells a wide variety of beans and is knowledgeable about the subject. Ideally you'll find a little shop selling a huge range of different beans from many different countries with employees that can talk to you about your preferences to find the best coffee beans for you. It is impossible to say straight out what the best would be for you since everyone is different, but it is likely you will be drawn to the South American offerings. Any time a habit turns into a hobby, you have to expect a significant investment, though not necessarily in money.

The next thing you want to look for is freshness. Try to avoid old coffee big bulk bins of roasted coffee beans that take weeks before they are refilled. The fresher your coffee beans are, the better you coffee will be, so it's worth the time and money to find fresh roasted coffee. If you find a nice little specialty shop, you should be able to talk to them about how often they roast. If they are a quality establishment, they should roast on a regular basis so there aren't beans sitting around for an excessive time.

To go along with the freshness concern, storing your coffee beans is important as well. To keep the best coffee beans as fresh as possible, store them in a cool, dry place in a completely airtight container. If you aren't going to be using the beans in a timely manner, especially if you already ground them, then you should keep them in the freezer to help preserve their flavor. Your best bet for really fresh coffee is to spend the money of a coffee grinder so you can buy beans and only grind them right when you are about to use them so they are as fresh as possible. The key idea is just to get and keep your coffee as fresh as possible to yield the greatest flavor.

Finding the best coffee beans for you isn't always an easy task. It may take some time to find a store that has a coffee you really love, especially if you live in a less populated area that can't support a specialty coffee shop. However, if you keep at it, eventually you should be able to find that perfect cup of coffee for you.
