The DeLonghi Magnifica Super Automatic Espresso Machine is Super Amazing

The DeLonghi Magnifica Super Automatic is a fine example of an inexpensive, yet well designed, and well built espresso and cappuccino maker.

DeLonghi has integrated a great number of pro-quality functions into this sleek-looking countertop appliance which produces a consistent, rich, scrumptious, steaming hot espresso every time.

The DeLonghi Magnifica features a stainless steel double boiler and their patented beans-to-brew system, which practically guarantees an espresso that's fresh and robust thanks to the built-in grinder that grinds your beans immediately prior to brewing.

I would consider the DeLonghi Magnifica super automatic espresso machine to be the greatest in it's class for price and performance. It produces a great espresso, and is also super-easy to clean and maintain, something that other manufacturers models aren't. For example, it's very simple to pull out the whole brew group assembly in order to rinse it off. Doing so on a regular basis will ensure flawless operation for a lot of years.

If you want to keep your machine at it is optimal operating condition there are two issues to keep in mind: Do upkeep on the machine on a routine, weekly basis, and don't use oily espresso beans in the machine.

  • Use distilled water instead of tap water. Your coffee will taste much better if you do.

  • Only use 100% Arabica beans, which have a tendency to be non-oily. Utilizing oily beans will result in the machine getting cloggged, and also the clogged grounds might get rancid. It may also shorten the life of the machine.

  • Thoroughly clean the brew group at minimum once a week. Just snap it out and run it under hot h2o.

  • De-calcify the machine when it signals you to complete it. It's easy to do so do not put it off.

No Machine is Perfect

  • The bean grinder is a bit noisier than some machines. But grinding only lasts for a couple of seconds.

  • It does not come on automatically at a pre-set time, like in the morning. You won't have to wait long, however, because it heats up to brew-temperature in only a few minutes.

  • The cup warmer doesn't work all that great. I usually just put some hot faucet water in my cup for a minute or so before brewing a shot.

Not everyone likes their espresso made the exact same way, but here would be the settings that I believe make a pretty darn good espresso:

  • Ground coffee amount dial at 10 o'clock

  • Coffee strength at three o'clock

  • Use the single cup dispense

  • Bean grind setting at five.

The espresso from the Magnifica is just as great as from Starbucks, and is extremely close to what you might find in Italy - not quite, but buying your own DeLonghi Magnifica super automatic espresso machine is a great deal less expensive than going to Italy for an excellent espresso that has a great crema, is the perfect temperature, and has rich, robust flavor.

If you really love espresso drinks then stop paying $5 or more at Starbucks and start making them yourself at home -- for mere pennies! BARISTAS HELP! Bought my first espresso machine, now what? What are the extra accessories I need?
I just bought my first espresso machine; it's "DeLonghi BCO130T Combination Coffee/Espresso Machine". Here is the link to the product: http://www.amazon.com/DeLonghi-BCO130T-Combination-Espresso-Machine/dp/B000F2M16O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1205453139&sr=1-1 I'm pretty good at navigating the net, but I cannot find a place that tells me exactly what I need! Do I get a grinder for beans? Also, I was going to get a frothing pitcher and a thermometer, do I really need these? I was also looking into getting some of the espresso pods. I know that they won't taste as good, but it will be great for those mornings when I'm in a rush! The pods say that your machine has to be designed to accept "ESE" coffee pods. I was looking at the machine's manual online and couldn't find this anywhere. Is there anything else I need? Oh and by the way, I usually drink lattes and stuff like that. Thanks for your help in advance!!! =o)
