Can 30amp item be plugged into a 50amp outlet?
Got a new Bunn Coffee machine that came with no plug so it has to be made to fit my wiring setup. The machine is 240v 30amp and the only outlet plug I have left is a 125/250v 50amp plug (it's the plug commonly used for ovens). Both coffee maker and wires/plug are 3 wire+ground and are rated for 50amp. I picked up a 50amp plug and wire that will fit but not sure if its ok to plug a 30amp machine into a 50amp outlet? Also pretty sure when I first got here there actually use to be a coffee machine plugged there but I have since changed my setup and can't remember for sure. Thanks for your response and time. So starting from the breaker box there is a combined 50amp break that totals 50 amp, has 2 flip switches tied together, from there runs a 3 wire+grnd to an outlet, and on the outlet the numbers 120v/250v 50amp are shown. I picked up a plug that is also rated 125v/225v 50amp that matches the socket, the coffee machine has a dual Volt switch that can be switched from 120v or 208v/240v and also indicates the minimum amp for this machine is 20 (does not say max). Coffee machine also has the 3 wire+grnd setup shown as model 35 on page 5 at this web site below... http://www.bunn.com/pdfs/commercial/manuals/41721.0000.pdf Just incase here's the model Commercial Bunn model CWTF-DV 2upper warmers (12950.0410). Thanks. Basicly not sure if a 20amp machine hooked up to a 50 amp setup will burn up or fry something in the machine. Will the machine only take the power it needs or will the juice from the line fry the machine. I think I understand the reverse idea of having a low amp breaker on a high amp machine, breaker will heat up becuase there is to much of a draw on it and pop, or wires will heat up and burn.

Coffee experts or restaurant people--I'm trying to get?
my coffee to taste less bitter or smooth like my breakfast restaurant makes. I've done some research, first of all we both use Folgers coffee and we both use a coffee maker with a basket and paper filter. They have a commercial Bunn coffee machine. Their coffee tastes smoother than mine as my wife noticed it first, yet both coffees are about the same darkness or strength. My only conclusion is that since they both drip hot water through the coffee grounds that there must be something in the paper filter that cancels the acidity of the coffee. I was good at science when I was in school. This is my only thoughts, what are your thoughts????
