Is there a downside to using already hot water in an automatic drip coffee maker?
The instructions on my automatic drip coffee maker say to always use cold water, but I don't understand why it would make a difference. Since I like my coffee hot, I like to use hot water. I don't see what the problem is. Anyone got an explanation? Is it bad for the machine?

brewing coffee?
I always liked the taste of coffee brewed over a stove as compared to the automatic drip coffee makers but right now money is very sparse so I cant buy a perculator. I remember my mother broke her coffee perculater once and she made the coffee on top of the stove using a pot but I dont remember how she done it and sadly she is passed away now so I cant ask her. Does anyone know how to do this?
